*Firstly preparing your phone for disassembling means you need to keep aside all the wires connected to it. Any plugged-in wire can cause serious damage.

*Secondly to have drained the phone’s battery by less than 25%. A charged battery has lithium‑ion that can catch fire if accidentally damaged.

*Thirdly to have to switch off the phone before starting any disassembling.

How to Switch off Google Pixel 8 Pro

*Locate the Power button on the side of your Google Pixel 8 Pro.

*Press and hold the Power button.

*While holding the Power button locate the Volume Up button.

*Press the Volume Up button while still holding the Power button.

*Select the “power off” from the shutdown menu and it’s done.

Step #2. Heat Application ON The Screen

Step #2. Heat Application ON The Screen

*The Google Pixel 8 Pro’s screen is secured with adhesive and some clipped.

*We will guide you on how to release these clips for disassembling the screen but for adhesive we have to apply heat for melting it.

*Heat will soften the adhesive and make it easy to cut.

*So here you can use a heat gun, hot plate, hair dryer, or hair straightener for heating the screen.

*Start heating from the bottom side of the screen.

*Then apply heat to the entire screen.

*Don’t heat the screen for more than two minutes.

*Keep checking the phone with your hand until it gets too hot to touch.

Step #3. Apply Suction Handle

Step #3. Apply Suction Handle

*After heating you will apply the suction tool on the bottom of the screen

*Make sure it should be in the center and as close to the bottom edge as possible.

*Through this suction tool you can create a line gap when you can insert an opening pick.

*Pull the suction tool with a steady force until you can see a suitable gap between the screen and the frame for inserting in the opening pick.

*If you feel tough to create a gap you can apply more heat to prevent damage.

Protect The Screen If Cracked

Cracked glass can make it hard to take your phone apart and could cause injury. If your phone’s screen is cracked, follow these steps.

*Cover the cracked screen with strips of packing tape. Overlap the strips until the whole screen is covered.

*Only put tape on the glass—don’t let it stick to the frame.

*Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from any loose glass that might fall off during the repair.

Step #4. Insert an Opening Pick

Step #4. Insert an Opening Pick

Now insert an opening pick when you see a proper gap for a pick.

Please do not insert it more than 3 mm long into the screen.

How To Prepare the Opening Pick

To safely separate the screen from the frame you will need to use opening picks. Be careful not to insert the pick too deeply. This could damage your device. To avoid this follow these steps to mark your pick.

*Measure 3 mm from the tip of your opening pick.

*Use a permanent marker to draw a line at the 3 mm mark.

*This will act as a guide to make sure you don’t insert the pick too far.

Alternatively away.

*Take a small coin and some tape.

*Position the coin 3 mm from the tip of the pick.

*Secure the coin in place with tape.

*The coin will act as a stopper preventing you from pushing the pick too deep.

*It is time to slide the opening pick on the bottom edge back and forth to separate the adhesive from the screen and frame.

*Move the opening pick toward the right corner of the bottom screen.

*Slide the pick from the bottom corner to the right edge.

*Be gentle when sliding the pick to separate the adhesive.

*Leave the pick on the right edge of the screen.

*Now insert another pick in the bottom edge and move it toward the left corner edge of the screen.

*Cut the adhesive from the left corner and take the pick to the left edge side.

*Keep sliding the opening pick and separating the adhesive.

*Wherever you feel stop twist the pick unlock the clip and move ahead.

*Slide the from the right side edge too and take it to the top right corner.

*Separate the top edge adhesive.

*Once the area is clean and dry apply a new thermal pad to replace the damaged one.

*Make sure the new pad is properly aligned before continuing with the reassembly.

Step #24. Fasten Middle Frame’s Screws

*It’s time to secure the middle frame with its screws.

*Press down firmly on the sheet with your fingers to make sure it is securely attached to your phone before removing any other liners.

*Carefully peel off the remaining blue liner.
